Fall Day of Service 2022

On Saturday, November 5, 25 JLNV members gathered for Fall Day of Service at Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area,a leader in providing support to refugees. Since 1999, they have welcomed more than 15,000 refugees. Today, they are welcoming both Afghan Allies and Ukrainians. The organization just acquired a new building in Alexandria that will become their Resource Center and Donations Hub. Members helped with various tasks to get the space ready, including cleaning, painting, furniture assembly, donation organizing/sorting, etc.

Alyssa Clifford of Lutheran Social Services remarked on how much work was accomplished by the JLNV volunteers and how much they appreciated the help. “I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for all the incredible work done on Saturday! We are truly thankful that JLNV chose to do a day of service at our Resource Center!”
