The Junior League Virginia League Summit Speakers


Keynote Speaker: Councilwoman Elizabeth Bennett-Parker

Councilwoman Bennett-Parker was elected to the Alexandria City Council in November 2018 and is the youngest woman elected to Council in Alexandria’s history.

Prior to her election, Councilwoman Bennett-Parker was appointed by Council to serve on the Community Criminal Justice Board and the Commission on Employment. She also served on the board of Agenda: Alexandria and the United Way Regional Council for Alexandria.

In her day job, she co-leads Together We Bake, a nonprofit job training and personal development program for women in need and a Junior League of Northern Virginia partner.

Nadine Vargas Stewart
Speaker – Big Money: Maximizing Event-Based Fundraisers

Nadine Vargas Stewart is a member of the Junior League of Raleigh, joining in 2015. Active in both the community and professionally, Nadine has served on the Junior League of Raleigh’s largest fundraiser, A Shopping SPREE!, for the past four years, serving as  a member of the Treasury and Exhibitor Committees and she has held the position of Exhibitor Co-Chair. She currently is the Assistant Co-Captain of A Shopping SPREE! and will serve as Co-Chair next year.

She has led a myriad of fundraisers professionally and through volunteer efforts. She is co-owner of Nine One Nine Consulting & Event Planning, which she established in 2014. In her professional career she helps plan and produce events for 10 to 3,000+ attendees, many of which have a fundraising component.

Victoria Berg
Speaker – Maximizing the Membership Experience: Inspiring and Motivating Members

Victoria Berg joined the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) in October of 2018. As a Membership Associate, Victoria designs, implements and tracks specific association-wide membership programs and initiatives. She received her BA in Environmental Science from McGill University and her MA in Climate Change and Human Rights from the Gallatin School at New York University. At Gallatin, Victoria received the Global Human Rights Fellowship, which she carried out at the World Food Programme in Nairobi. She also interned at the UN in New York and was a member of the Dean’s Team during her studies. Throughout her studies, she worked part-time as a philanthropy associate at Echelon Capital. Victoria also was on the founding team for an eco-technical wetsuit start-up for women.

Tracy Prabhu
Speaker – The CEO in You: Developing Your Personal Strategic Vision

Tracy Prabhu is a John Maxwell leadership coach, speaker and trainer, who helps individuals in the for profit, nonprofit and entrepreneur sectors to increase their leadership skills. Tracy started her coaching business in 2017 to help others achieve the success they desire in whatever professional avenue they choose. In addition to her work as a leadership coach and speaker, Tracy has been a member of four Junior Leagues and currently is an active member of the Boston League, where she serves as Executive Vice President-Elect. Since joining her first League in 2005, she has served in many leadership roles, including President of the Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale. Throughout her League career, she has been know for her leadership, critical thinking and strategic planning skills.
