JUNIOR LEAGUE OF NORTHERN VIRGINIA AWARDS $10,000 AND 330 VOLUNTEER HOURS TO SIX LOCAL NONPROFITS DEDICATED TO WOMEN AND CHILDREN
Fairfax, VA (July 12, 2024) – The Junior League of Northern Virginia (JLNV) is proud to announce the awarding of $10,000 in grants and 330 volunteer hours to six nonprofit organizations dedicated to women and children in the Metro DC and Northern Virginia area. Each organization has a unique mission and approach to providing essential services and support to women and children in crisis.
The awardees are:
- Bridges to Independence – $2,000 and 50 volunteer hours
- Homestretch – $2,500 and 75 volunteer hours
- KEEN Greater DC – $500
- Lorton Community Action Center – $2,500 and 75 hours
- Saving NOVA’s Little Ones – 30 volunteer hours
- Women Giving Back – $2,500 and 100 volunteer hours
“The Junior League of Northern Virginia is thrilled with the opportunity to continue supporting our community in partnership with these amazing nonprofits dedicated to supporting women and children in crisis,” said Erica Gouse Bledsoe 2024-2025 JLNV President. “With our 325 members and new theme of A Blooming Future: Cultivating Growth, Nurturing Connection, we are excited to make a difference in our community quickly and in an impactful way,” she added.
Since 1958, our members have raised more than $2 million dollars to implement more than 50 community programs in Northern Virginia. Our members have provided hundreds of thousands volunteer hours in support of Northern Virginia nonprofits. We have engaged in various community initiatives, from combating homelessness and STEM education to healthy eating and active living initiatives for kids and families.
