The Children’s Science Center Lab officially opened its doors at Fair Oaks Mall on Saturday, June 20. The JLNV and its members have been strong supporters of the Children’s Science Center over the years. The Lab is Northern Virginia’s first interactive museum where children, families and school groups can explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) concepts through fun, engaging hands-on exhibits, activities and programs.
Despite the summertime heat, the JLNV is already getting into the holiday spirit! Preparations are underway for our 15th Annual The Enchanted Forest fundraiser. Over the past 14 years we have raised more than $1 million, which has allowed the JLNV to address urgent community needs. Save the date to attend this year’s holiday extravaganza!
Former JLNV President Candice Bennett was a featured guest on the Virginia Leadership Institute’s A Seat at the Table with Krysta Jones. During the segment, “Women’s Empowerment,” Candice discussed the Junior League of Northern Virginia’s mission, and its community programs such as Kids in the Kitchen, as well as its fundraiser The Enchanted Forest.
