Mission and Vision
The Junior League of Northern Virginia is an organization of women whose mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.
Our Vision
Women Around the World as Catalysts for Lasting Community Change.
Our Focus
Childhood obesity has broad health consequences for children and families, and affects 1 in 5 children in Northern Virginia. The JLNV prepares children for success by addressing childhood obesity through the promotion of nutrition and physical activity education, which is proven to enrich health, well-being, and academic outcomes. The JLNV is committed to reducing the number of impacted children by empowering families to make healthier choices.
Our Members
More than 400 women in the Northern Virginia area are members of the JLNV. The women share a common desire to drive positive change in the community. In alignment with our mission, the League provides members with training and skills that will enrich their professional and personal lives. Training opportunities include leadership development seminars, workshops, project management opportunities, and “hands-on” experience. Throughout our history, the JLNV has provided over 20,000 service hours toward JLNV programs and initiatives, 800 hours in leadership training, and more than $2.4 million in financial support to the community.
