Junior League of Northern Virginia Announces 17th Annual The Enchanted Forest Holiday Festival

MCLEAN, Virginia (September 1, 2017) – The Junior League of Northern Virginia (JLNV) announces the return of its annual holiday fundraiser The Enchanted Forest, November 18-19, 2017 at the Westin in Tysons Corner.

The Enchanted Forest is a weekend-long holiday festival featuring a wide variety of  events for the entire family. Attendees can stroll through the whimsical forest of theme-decorated holiday trees for silent auction, enjoy live entertainment, participate in hands-on cooking demonstrations, view a model train display by the National Capital Trackers, visit with Santa, partake in a gingerbread house contest, shop for holiday gifts, make holiday crafts and much more.  Additional premium events include Breakfast with Santa, Gingerbread Workshops and the Bright and Merry Bash Cocktail party. General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $15 for children and are valid the entire weekend.  All event tickets can be purchased online at www.jlnv.org/TEF. The hours are Saturday, November 18 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, November 19 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Proceeds from The Enchanted Forest will benefit our Kids in the Kitchen programs. These programs introduce children to the basic concepts of nutrition and healthy eating; supporting food access and community gardening initiatives; as well as the Kids in the Kitchen Annual Spring Health Fair, our largest community event that serves hundreds of children each year.  Childhood obesity affects 1 in 5 children in Northern Virginia and has broad health consequences for children and their families. JLNV is committed to preparing children for success by addressing childhood obesity through empowering families to make healthy eating and active living a priority.

As part of our 60th Anniversary, JLNV is conducting a food drive with a goal of collecting 60,000 pounds of healthy, non-perishable food items for our community partners;those attending The Enchanted Forest will have an opportunity to contribute to our goal!
