Junior League of Northern Virginia Awards $10,000 to Support Community Initiatives to Reduce Childhood Obesity

MCLEAN, VA (June 1, 2021) – For more than 60 years, the Junior League of Northern Virginia (JLNV) has been investing in the community by providing grant funding to trusted community partners. The JLNV supports innovative projects or programs that will measurably improve the lives of children in our community by empowering them to make healthy food and lifestyle choices to reduce childhood obesity and its associated health issues.

The JLNV is pleased to announce its 2021-2022 League year grant recipients, who have been presented awards of funds and volunteer hours:

Recipients are selected through a partnership selection process focused on how potential partners support our focus area of helping address childhood obesity through nutrition education, physical activity, and access to healthy food options; how funds will be used; and how JLNV volunteers can support these partners’ efforts. The 2021-22 League year will begin June 1, 2021.
