Junior League of Northern Virginia Welcomes 2020-21 Board of Directors

The Junior League of Northern Virginia’s (JLNV) 2020-21 board of directors officially transitioned June 1. Leading the board is Robin Joy Robinson, the JLNV’s 56th president.

This year’s guiding theme is Navigating Our Journey — a timely subject as the JLNV navigates volunteer and fund development best practices in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The JLNV looks forward to exploring opportunities to continue making an impact on the community through its focus on combating childhood obesity through nutritional education and physical activity as health and wellness remain at the forefront of conversation across the United States.

Robinson’s goals for the year are to:

  • Cultivate and sustain a diverse, inclusive, and equitable membership;
  • Collaborate with community stakeholders to develop sustainable community programming to increase awareness of the impact of childhood obesity;
  • Diversify and strengthen the JLNV’s funding sources; and
  • Continue to raise the profile of the JLNV.

Robinson, a resident of Falls Church, has 18 years of program and project management experience, and is currently a Project Manager for Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
