The JLNV’s Market Explorers program at local farmers markets introduces children to where their food comes from through engaging activities such as market tours and scavenger hunts, physical activity, and healthy snack preparation. Market Explorers was recently featured in a Washington Post article.
The JLNV endeavors to teach children where their food comes from. In partnership with local farmers markets, our volunteers engage children with a market tour, interactive exhibits, physical activities, mini-nutrition lessons and hands-on cooking demonstrations. Kids leave with newly created snacks and the recipe to replicate the fun at home.
