Benefits of Membership

Community Focus and Volunteer Opportunities

The Junior League of Northern Virginia (JLNV) is dedicated to advancing women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. Our members are actively engaged in our focus area – Women Helping Women.

Our community initiative focuses on:

  • Women Helping Women – providing access to essential services and professional development opportunities for women and families.
  • Establishing period pantries in Northern Virginia
  • Providing professional development training

Leadership Development

Training women to become community leaders is in our DNA. Ever since 1901 when Junior League founder, Mary Harriman, taught her friends how to work with tenement families on the Lower East Side, our organization has been committed to developing leadership skills. Today our volunteers learn through a variety of innovative, hands-on training programs, leadership development training, and activities.

Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

The Junior League welcomes all women who value our mission. We are committed to inclusive environments of diverse individuals, organizations, and communities.
