Once we receive your form, you’ll receive information about our upcoming New Member Course and how to pay your dues.

Eligibility Requirements

The JLNV is a dynamic group of women whose mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. We encourage all women in the Northern Virginia area (including suburban Maryland and the District of Columbia) to join. Any woman is invited to join who meets the following requirements:

• You must be at least 21 years of age.
• You must currently reside in the Washington, D.C. Metro area.
• You must submit an information form and payment of dues for the New Member training course.

The New Member Experience

As a New Member, you’ll participate in a 5–6 month orientation course that introduces you to JLNV’s mission, structure, and impact. You’ll also start building connections with your fellow New Members and gain early access to community and leadership opportunities.

Requirements for New Members

To successfully complete the course and transition to Active membership, you must:

• Attend 2 New Member Trainings
  • Spring 2026 dates: Jan. 24 and Feb. 28 (makeups available)
• Attend 2 General Membership Meetings (GMMs) or Small Group Meetings (SGMs)
• Participate in 1 social or leadership training event
• Complete at least 3 hours of community service
• Engage in your committee placement
• Pay dues:
  • Fall New Members: $355 ($305 annual dues + $50 course fee)
  • Winter New Members: $202.50 ($152.50 annual dues + $50 course fee)

When Will I Become an Active Member?

• Fall New Member Class: Begins in August → Becomes Active in January
• Spring New Member Class: Begins in January → Becomes Active in June
