As members of the Junior League of Northern Virginia (JLNV), we are proud of our 65+ year history and commitment to the local community. Our 325 members have a common desire to drive positive social change and do so by developing women leaders who use their training and experience gained in the Junior League to provide basic needs and essential services to women & their families in Northern Virginia through volunteerism and community partnerships. Throughout our history, the JLNV has provided countless service hours, thousands of hours of leadership training, and millions in financial support to local nonprofits. Many accomplishments over the years include: building the Children’s Science Center, developing the Family Resource Center with Shelter House (and establishing an endowment to ensure its stability), and implementing the Reading is Fundamental program in Northern Virginia.

More recently, we have focused on:

• Establishing multiple Period Pantries across Northern Virginia to supply period products at no cost for those who need them
• Supporting Women Giving Back, whose mission supports women & children in crisis with quality clothing as a first step to stability, with hundreds of volunteer hours and donated items
• Volunteering at the Arlington Food Assistance Warehouse, bagging and sorting dry foods & produce
• Giving thousands of dollars in grant money to nonprofit partners in Northern Virginia
