The Junior League of Northern Virginia has announced the awarding of nearly $20,000 in grants to five non-profit organizations in the local region.

Fairfax County Times (December 9, 2022) – Junior League, a tradition of volunteering and cookbooks – Junior League was founded in 1901, in New York. It was a way for women to organize together and volunteer. Today, almost 300 chapters of the Association of Junior League International can be found across North America, and Great Britain. This includes the Junior League of Northern Virginia. While times have changed, volunteerism is still a key component of the Junior League.

Fairfax County Times  (2022) – The Junior League of Northern Virginia increases impact with more grant awards – When the Junior League of Northern Virginia (JLNV) began to partition their grant money into smaller awards years ago, it was about augmenting their scope. “We can reach a lot more people, children, [and] women by doing smaller grants to several organizations versus one big grant,” said President Parys Jolly.

Loudoun Now (2022) – Junior League Donates to JK Community Farm – The Junior League of Northern Virginia has pledged a donation of $2,700 to the JK Community Farm near Purcellville, one of five made to nonprofits around the region totaling $10,000. The funds will be used to support the construction of four bio-intensive raised beds for food education and nutrient dense produce production along with up to 75 volunteer hours at the farm that provides fresh produce to food pantries around the region.

Junior League Of Northern Virginia Announces Grant Availability For Local Nonprofits Working To Address Access To Essential Services And Professional Development Opportunities For Women And Families  – (October 3, 2022) – The Junior League of Northern Virginia (JLNV) announced it is accepting applications for its 2023-24 Community Grants program. The grant cycle will focus on access to essential services and professional development opportunities for women and families as part of the League’s continued commitment to improving the lives of women and families in Northern Virginia. The grants cycle will run now through December 2, 2022.

Junior League of Northern Virginia’s Sapphire Anniversary Giving Campaign Celebrates New Focus Area Women Helping Women – (September 12, 2022) – The Junior League of Northern Virginia (JLNV) is celebrating 65 years of making a difference in the Northern Virginia and DC metro areas with a Sapphire Anniversary Giving Campaign, entitled Sapphires in Service: A tribute to the strength, power and service of JLNV. The goal is to raise more than $16,500 by May 6, 2023, celebrating seven decades of service and launching a new focus area for next year, Women Helping Women.

Aronson Foundation Selected Junior League Of Northern Virginia As July Charity Of The Month – (September 11, 2022) – The Junior League of Northern Virginia (JLNV) was selected as the July “Charity of the Month” by the Aronson Foundation. Through their fundraiser, Denim Fridays, Aronson LLC’s team members donated funds to JLNV which were matched by the Foundation. The foundation presented a check of $2,693 supporting JLNV programs.

Junior League Of Northern Virginia Awards $10,000 To Metro Dc & Northern Virginia Nonprofits Aimed To Reduce Childhood Obesity – For 65 years, the Junior League of Northern Virginia (JLNV) invests in Northern Virginia through grants to esteemed nonprofits through a rigorous selection process every year. LNV will award more than $10,000 in grant funding and volunteer hours with a focus on Healthy Eating, Active Living, and Access to Healthy Food Options.

Junior League Of Northern Virginia Announces 2022-2023 Board Members – Since 1958, our members have raised more than $2 million dollars to implement more than 35 community programs in Northern Virginia. Our members have provided hundreds of thousands volunteer hours in support of Northern Virginia nonprofits.

New Member Recruiting Now in Progress – The Junior League of Northern Virginia is currently recruiting for its Summer New Member class which begins in late August.
